Committee Descriptions

Communications Committee
Key tasks include:
  1. Identifies opportunities and ways to maintain consistent communication streams between parents, teachers, staff and the community. 
  2. Ensures and provides timely and accurate distribution of information to all PTA members and the larger Melwood School community.
  3. Manages and maintains PTA Website and social media accounts.
  4. Drafts and distributes weekly e-News Digest and Monthly Newsletter.
  5. Updates PTA Bulletin Board monthly.

Fundraising Committee
Key tasks include:
  1. Plans, coordinates and executes and  fundraising activities/events. 
  2. Evaluates fundraising activities and initiatives to determine effectiveness. 
  3. Compiles fundraising report for the Board that includes Gross and Net Profit, Expenses and synopsis PTA member participation/engagement. 

Hospitality Committee
Key tasks include:
  1. Coordinates staff, teacher and volunteer engagement and participation.
  2. Plans, coordinates and executes monthly "Teacher Treats" as well as annual Teacher Appreciation Week.
  3. Works closely with Fundraising Chair and Teacher Liaison to identify opportunities and resources to recognize teachers, staff and volunteers. 

Membership Committee 
Key tasks include: 
  1. Manages and maintains Membership Master List. 
  2. Staffs sign-in table at meeting.
  3. Coordinates volunteers, interpreters and refreshments for meetings.
  4. Actively works to recruit new PTA members.
  5. Identifies opportunities and ways to increase PTA membership.

Teacher Liaison 
Key responsibilities include:
  1. Represents the interest of teachers at monthly PTA meetings and events. 
  2. Ensures constant flow of communications between teachers PTA.
